Atlanta Falcons Playoff Tickets
There really haven't been too many opportunities for football fans in Georgia to purchase Atlanta Falcons playoff tickets. The franchise's first ever postseason appearance came in 1978, as they defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Wildcard game but lost to the Dallas Cowboys in the Divisional Playoffs. They returned to the playoffs twice in the 1980s, in 1980 and 1982, but failed to earn a postseason victory either time. Then came a long and brutal nine year drought, until the Falcons finally made a return trip to the playoffs in 1991. Once again, though, they failed to get past the NFC Divisional Playoff, and in 1995 they were eliminated in the Wild Card round. 1998 was Atlanta's breakthrough year, as they beat San Francisco in the Divisional Playoff and then won the NFC Championship by beating Minnesota, 30-27. It was the Falcons' first conference title in franchise history.
Atlanta Falcons Playoff Tickets in 2005?
Should fans be planning to buy Atlanta Falcons playoff tickets in 2005? The odds certainly look good. Last season, with Michael Vick healthy following a knee injury he suffered during the 2003 preseason and new head coach Jim Mora taking the team's reigns, the Falcons reached the NFC Championship for only the second time in team history. They lost to the Eagles, 27-10, and fell short of the Super Bowl. However, the team seems poised to make another run at the league championship again this season. The Falcons DVD offense of Vick and running backs Warrick Dunn and T.J. Duckett led the NFL in rushing last season, averaging 167 yards per game. Atlanta also boasts a solid defensive unit, leading the league in sacks thanks to Pro Bowl defensive end Patrick Kerney and linebacker Keith Brooking. They are a talented squad on both sides of the ball, and if they can put it all together, they may well be representing the NFC in the Super Bowl come February.
