Atlanta Falcons Fight Song

What? There actually is an Atlanta Falcons fight song? Yes, it may come as a surprise to many football fans, but the team that calls the Georgia Dome home actually does appear to have an official team theme. The song is called "Falcons Fever" and was written by country music star Travis Tritt. It debuted in 2004, and was played prior to each Falcons home game and after each time the team scored a touchdown. Tritt himself is a tremendous fan of the team, and in fact collaborated with Atlanta's Chris Mohr on the song "I See Me," a song written in honor of the Falcon punter's 11-year-old son Garrett. The country music star performed it live during halftime of an October 17, 2004 game between the Falcons and the San Diego Chargers. The single is available through the team's website, as are lyrics and a link to a recording of the live performance during the aforementioned Chargers game.

The Original Atlanta Falcons Fight Song

Of course, while "Falcons Fever" is the song-du-jour for fans at the moment, the very first Atlanta Falcons fight song dates back to the team's days at Atlanta Fulton-County Stadium. The song was entitled "Fly High Falcons" and would be sung by the fans each time the Falcons team would score. There lyrics were recently reprinted on the Atlanta team homepage and were as follows: "Fly high Falcons straight down the field, / Fly high Falcons never to yield. / Red and silver is Atlanta's team, / When the game is over you will reign supreme. / (Come on and) fly high Falcons, soar in the sky. / You're the football elite. / Flying higher, higher, high -- fly high, / Atlanta Falcons can't be beat! / (Come on and) fly high Falcons, soar in the sky. / You're the football elite. / Flying higher, higher, high -- fly high, / Atlanta Falcons can't be beat!"
